A premier Parisian haunt since around the middle of the 17th Century! Enjoy - along with a privileged elite - its unique old world charm and gentle pace, noble facades and narrow medieval streets. The Ile St Louis and the adjoining Ile de la Cite are among the oldest areas of Paris. The Latin Quarter, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Marais, the Place des Vosges, the antique shops of the Rue St Paul, are all within a short stroll. Along the tiny island streets you will find boutiques, cafes, fine restaurants as well as the famous Berthilion ice cream!
This apartment is located in a fine 18th century building with a classic view over the banks of the Seine. Concierge and elevator service are available (half-flight of stairs at each end). Large top floor triplex apartment (approx. 1,300 sq. ft.) has been designed and furnished for the owner’s own use (some cupboards reserved for the owner). The apartment has been recently entirely refurbished to reflect the American owners' eclectic taste, which yields a successful mix of modern and antique. The many personal items around the apartment make this a real home-from-home in Paris. Entrance hall leads to immense 500 sq.ft. living room with view over the Seine. Lots of comfortable seating, dining area - special features include magnificent roof beams, intricate parquet floor design, fine pictures, open fire. A small office adjoins. Well-equipped kitchen has pretty Mexican-tiled worktop, washer, dryer, dishwasher and American size refrigerator. Master bedroom features a king size bed and a bathroom with shower over tub and WC. A short curved stairway leads to a cozy middle floor which featurs a second bedroom containing two twin beds. Guests on this floor enjoy an enchanting view over the Seine. Further steps with no handrail (dangerous for small children) to the attic where the third bedroom offers a double bed in the main area plus two single beds under the eaves. This is not suitable for taller persons as there is low headroom under the eaves. Bathroom with tub and WC. The rent includes all bed linen, twice weekly light maid service, central heating.
Note: The steep stairs make this apartment unsuitable for small children.
