| Villa Petaloutha is one of the most comfortable retreats on Skopelos. The English owners have spent nine years to complete what is now a sumptuous home with an unrivalled position to enjoy the sun setting behind Skiathos. From the road which skirts the beaches of the west coast, five kilometres before the port of Glossa, a rough track climbs through hillside olive groves and pine forest to the Villa - a drive of ten minutes. Undisturbed, Petaloutha is set in private grounds of terraced gardens and orchards with almond, fig, plum, peach and pear trees. The position is at the top of a hill and views, from the bedroom balconies and the large verandah, of the Greek mainland, Skiathos and the smaller islands of Argos and Tsougria, are beautiful. Large rooms, open to the pine rafters, are attractively and comfortably furnished to give a feeling of a much loved home.
