| In 1970, the Count de Mario Caracciolo, who was the last descendant of a prestigous Neapolitan family, was so enamored by Villa Il Gioiello ("The Jewel") that he purchased it, adorned it with precious furnishings and lived there. He does not live there today, however the current manager of the villa will be glad to share his knowledge of the history of this great villa. Located in Sorrento, on the Amalfi Coast, this magnificent villa is situated only a short walking distance from the bustling city center and main square which puts it in the most exclusive residential area. The entrance to the villa is found along a beautiful tree-lined road which is part of its gardens. | This stylish villa is over 4,850 square feet in length and has several floors. The garden leads to the main entrance. On the left of the entrance you will find the spacious lounge, study, dining-room and music rooms. On the right of the entrance you will find the rustic area with the kitchen, dining-room and a lounge area.
All five of the bedrooms are on the second level. The master bedroom has a double-bed along with an en-suite bathroom with WC, Jacuzzi tub and shower. Next, there are two double-bedded rooms which share a bathroom containing a bathtub and WC.
