| Written documentation of Stomennano dates back to 1254 when in his place was signed the peace between Florence and Siena. A farm house, wine cellars, olive and oil mills, stables and a small church lay beyond the villa owned by the same family since the end of the 18th Century. The villa itself is situated on top of a hill facing the walled Medieval age town of Monteriggioni. The estate surrounding Stomennano runs for over 200 acres and is cultivated with vineyards, olive groves, hay fields and woodlands. The view is breathtaking, encompassing the gentle slopes of the Senese country, the fortifications of Monteriggioni and in the distance, the towers of San Gimignano. Convenient to the cities of Sienna and Florence, Villa Stomennano is ideally situated for historical and cultural day trips. The entrance to Stomennano is preceded by a cypress tree-lined drive almost a half kilometer long. Some of the furnishings have been preserved to give guests the feeling of life in Tuscany in the 18th Century.
