| La Capitata is a completely autonomous part of a villa,
and lies in a very panoramic position in the hills south of Florence above
the village of Pian di Sco', which is about 2 kms away. The property also
includes a building alongside one side of the villa, containing four small
independent apartments with separate entrances. It can be rented as the
villa alone, which sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, or the villa plus the four
apartments which sleep 22 in 11 total bedrooms. The villa has maintained
all of its rural characteristics after the recent renovation, but has many
modern and comfortable conveniences. The living room is dominated by the
large Tuscan chimneypiece, which has been re-constructed in the same form
and size as the old nineteenth century fireplace. The furnishings are
typically Tuscan with cast-iron beds and furniture from the end of the 1800s.
The kitchen is professional with dishwasher and many accessories. The villa
is also equipped with satellite TV, stereo with CD, independent central
heating, external pay-laundry and a PC with an internet connection that can
be used during the day at a cost of 5 Euro per hour. On the outside, apart
from the nice, panoramic swimming-pool that is shared with the guests of
the four apartments, there are ample spaces for taking a stroll and there
is an area reserved for guests of the villa, furnished with tables and
chairs for dining outside. The owners have also furnished and equipped a
basement where, on request, they will prepare you some excellent Tuscan
cuisine, and where they offer wine and olive oil of their own production.
About 500m from the property is an attractive general food shop, and in the
nearby village of Pian di Sco' you can find all the services you might need:
banks, shops, bars and restaurants. Close-by are many attractive villages
to visit: Reggello, Castelfranco di Sopra and many others all the way up to
the beautiful plateau at Pratomagno. Florence is about 35 kms away and can
be reached in 30 minutes by car along the Florence/Rome motorway, which
lies 10 kms from the villa. The Chianti Classico region and Siena lie
respectively 45 and 60 kms away.
