To quote the famous Catalan poet, Jaume Bofill i Mates: "Olot is the lovely capital of the Garrotxa region, with a well defined hegemony and a very special air about it." The town offers a little of everything - art, agriculture, parks, museums and markets, plus the lovely River Fluvía - a delightful place to take a stroll. The surrounding scenery provides great walking terrain too: set in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the town is flanked by forests and woodlands of evergreen oaks; Spring and Autumn are particularly beautiful here. This property is a first floor apartment (with stairs and a lift) situated in the smart residential 'Boulevard of Barcelona'. It is just 80m from a supermarket and shops and just a little further to a pretty park. The town centre is within walking distance, as is the river, thus the car can be left 'at home' some days if preferred. The living room and twin bedroom overlook the tree-lined boulevard, and double-glazed windows minimise any street noise. The accommodation is very comfortable and tasteful, with a well equipped fitted kitchen. Many of the walls are adorned with paintings by the owner, an artist who is rapidly gaining recognition in Catalunya. In fact, Olot is home to a number of Catalan artists and art exhibitions are held quite frequently here.
