Description:

Dittisham is one of the prettiest and most unspoilt villages within the South Hams. It boasts 2 excellent pubs, a riverside tearoom, a well stocked village store and the opportunity to hire a variety of boats to explore the upper reaches of River Dart. For the young, and the young at heart, Dittisham is the perfect place for 'crabbing' - lines and bait are available at the tearooms! We have 7 cottages to offer you in Dittisham, Dunedin House and Dunedin Cottage. Quicks, Berry, Sunnydale, Thornwell and Penveron. The historic town of Dartmouth is 5 miles away - famous for The Carved Angel, an award-wining restaurant, and numerous other pubs. During the summer months, a passenger ferry service to Dartmouth operates on the hour, perfect for those wishing to escape the car. A further ferry, summoned by ringing a large brass ship's bell on the sea wall, takes passengers across to Greenway - former home of Agatha Christie. From Dartmouth, it is possible to take river trips up to the picturesque town of Totnes, and a wonderful steam train carries passengers from Kingswear on the opposite bank of the river, across to Paignton. The nearest sandy beach is 10 miles away. Dunedin House is an impressive Georgian semi-detached property occupying a prominent position on the waterfront in Dittisham. The House offers accommodation on 3 floors and enjoys spectacular views across the River Dart from inside the property, and from a raised decked terrace. The Ferry Boat Inn is a minute's walk from the front door.
