The village, situated at the southern end of the Cotswolds, is very well placed for visiting Bath, 7 miles away. Also close by are the National Trust gardens at Dyrham Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, Castle Coombe and the SS Great Britain at Bristol. There are excellent walks from the village, including the spectacular St Catherine's valley and along the Cotswold Way. Marshfield has several pubs and The Catherine Wheel is recommended for food.
