Description: The Pink House is late seventeenth-century cottage situated in a private, secluded landscaped garden. Furnished in a blend of period and contemporary styles with items from the owners private art collection as well as examples of regional craftwork. South Kilkenny has medieval towns and villages scattered down the two river valleys, with good scenic drives, craft trails, and things to do. While the house is in a rural setting it is 5 minutes south of Inistioge village, a picturesque river crossing with three restaurants, and a shop. Thomastown - 5 minutes further on – is also on a river crossing, has two restaurants, an organic butcher and a specialist coffee and cheese shop. There are numerous restaurants in Graiguenamanagh, Bennetsbridge, Kilkenny, New Ross and Waterford, all within 15-30 minutes drive. Kilkenny city is 30 minutes to the north, while Waterford city is 30 minutes to the southwest. New Ross 10 minutes to the south is the nearest town with large shops, coffee shops and an organic market on the quay on a Saturday morning. Graiguenamanagh (pronounced gregnamana - grange of the monks) 10 minutes to the north east, is fast becoming the Irish book town with an annual book festival, and regular music recitals in the medieval cathedral. The house lies close to the South-Leinster Way, a cross country walking route, traversing both river valleys. In addition there are river valley walks along the Barrow tow paths and a newly developed walk along the Nore River from Inistioge to Kilkenny.city.
