Amenities include air conditioning (although you'll rarely need it, as the hilltop location allows for maximum circulation of Tuscan breezes) and a magnificent Mediterranean style swimming pool with roman steps, perfect for an impromtu wine tasting or wiling away late summer afternoons with a favorite novel.

La Poggiolaia is the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. At walking distance there are a family-owned Tuscan Restaurant, a mini-market, and one of the oldest churches of the region. Just a few miles down the hill there is Certaldo Alto, the picturesque, walled medieval hilltop town renowned for being the birthplace of the poet and writer Giovanni Boccaccio, the author of the Decameron. For longer day trips and lovers of the Italian Renaissance, Florence, Volterra, Siena and Pisa are all within one hour driving distance.
