There are numerous walks from the cottage across farmland and moorland to the rear which borders the Offa's Dyke long distance footpath. Chester and Langollen are 40 minutes, Liverpool 1 hour and Snowdonia and Anglesey slightly over the hour. Castle lovers will be spoilt for choice with Denbigh, Conwy, Chirk, Penrhyn and Beaumaris all within access. The White Horse in Hendrerwydd and the Kinmel Arms in Llandyrnog are both 2 miles away. Llandyrnog also has a village shop cum post office, butcher and a seasonal 'pick your own' fruit and vegetable farm. Ruthin, Denbigh and Mold have reasonable day to day shopping facilities and Mold has an excellent theatre and Arts Centre. Day trips to Ireland are also possible with ferries going from both Holyhead and Mostyn.
